Where the Grants have gone

The Gascoyne Murchison Strategy has contributed $6,597,506 towards business and industry development as part of the overall grant scheme. The grants have been provided for the following projects to improve productivity, profitability and sustainability;

The grant scheme closed on the 30 September 2000 although recoups can be made up until the 30 December 2003.

As well as individual business grants the grant scheme has also contributed to the Cyclone Vance recovery efforts (the strongest cyclone ever to cross the Australian mainland) and the Carnarvon Artesian Basin Bore Rehabilitation Project.

To date, the GMS has contributed a total of $10,661,506 to the region. This is a significant investment into the region and one that is matched by a total pastoralist contribution in the vicinity of $9,200,000 through cash and 'in-kind'.
